The body represents the second section of the written document. Imagine that your thesis sits like a roof on several pillars. The pillars serve as the buttressed arguments that support the thesis. Each one of these pillars must relate directly back to the thesis you’re trying to prove. The pillars themselves should be built from facts—the bricks and mortar that support them. In your TV document, the pillars will be each of the three areas we discussed: the questionable educational effects of television; the insipidness of television; and finally the negative or hostile effects of television.
