Okay—you’ve given your team a proper start. Its necessary structure is in place and members have received a lot of guidance and direction. Now all you have to do is sit back and watch them grow, right? WRONG! You still have a lot of work to do. Developing a team is a lot like planting a garden: even after you have tilled the earth and sown the seeds, you still have work to do, ensuring that the garden is watered, weeded, and fertilized.
