Art Byrne has been implementing Lean in various companies since his first General Manager job at the General Electric Company in 1982. As Group Executive of the Danaher Corporation, he, along with one of his Group Presidents, brought Lean to Danaher with the help of four former Toyota executives who had worked with Taiichi Ohno implementing the Toyota Production System in Toyota’s suppliers. As CEO of The Wiremold Company, he more than quadrupled sales and increased enterprise value by 2,467 percent in a little over nine years.
