Standard Work
After a new method that is able to increase value has been created, this change must be maintained. Maintaining it is a challenge. The solution to maintain this new way is to create standardized jobs. It means that when a most efficient and effective way is formed, it must be a standard work. In other words, the new process continues with the new standard operating procedures (Holden, 2011). This standard work is developed and then continuously improved by the employees who do the work (Ben-Tovim et al., 2008). Standard work applies not only to the employee level but also to the top level and leadership (Mann, 2009).
