Adam did not like to call anyone on his executive team at home in the evening, so he was surprised at how unhesitating he was in hitting the speed dial assigned to his COO. Part of his maneuver was defensive; he wanted to keep Darren in his line of sight right now. But, despite the suspicions that boiled up at times about Darren’s links to the board, he also felt oddly safe talking with him, especially with so many agendas playing out within the board itself.
