Eugenius Warming

THE JUTLAND PENINSULA
Eugenius Warming was born in 1841 on the small island Mando, one of the Wadden Sea Islands off the southwest coast of the Jutland Peninsula in Denmark. When he was young, his father died. He and his mother moved to Vejle, an ancient Danish town on the mainland that lies on a long sea inlet called a fjord. Eugenius attended school in Ribe and then went to study natural history at the University of Copenhagen.
