A Hopeful Pose, with Added Benefits
One pose I use a lot is to have my subject look up at whatever my light source is. So, if I’m shooting outdoors, they’re looking up toward the sun, or if I’m shooting with flash, they’re looking up toward the flash. This creates a very peaceful, happy, hopeful look, but beyond that, it brightens the light hitting the face. That wash of light helps hide facial blemishes, it tightens the skin on the neck and jawline (which, for most folks, is a plus), and it’s just a nice, flattering look all the way around. Add this pose to your posing bag of tricks, and I’ll bet your subject loves how it looks.
