Introduction

Smart phone ownership has grown exponentially in the last decade. According to Pew Research, in 2013, 56% of American adults were smart phone owners (Smith, 2013). This number has substantially increased since 2011, when only 35% of American adults owned smart phones. In addition, people spend more time on their smart phones; in 2013, on average, a person spent 34 hours per month on his or her smart phone, a growth of 8 hours since 2012 (Fingas, 2014).
