Nothing has demonstrated our interconnectedness more clearly than the financial crisis of 2008 through 2009. What happened on one side of the world profoundly impacted the other side. As a global family of nations, we are irrefutably connected financially, environmentally, culturally, and politically through business interactions, educational institutions, and research institutions and through the stresses and fractures that such interconnectedness creates.
