Connecting Goals and Values to Beliefs and Mode of Work
A 2014 program, Project-based Internships, at a large urban university in Philadelphia, PA, sought to build trust and relationships between the emerging workforce members and the regional work community. These work organizations had a need for work to be done. The program structured the work as a project so that the students’ experience built an understanding of how mindset is set and knowledge work is done. The hosting companies gained a tangible outcome of the work based on the goals and values of the organization.
