12. ICSM and Your Organization

To this point, we have continually stated that the ICSM is a process generator, not a process. There are two reasons that we continue to hammer this thought home. First, it is true (q.e.d.)—that is the way the original spiral model was defined, although rarely how it was used. And therein lies the second reason—the way to use the ICSM is as a process generator.
