Temporary Instant Capacity Overview
Temporary Instant Capacity allows a computing environment to flex as the workloads demand. The demands may be a result of a Serviceguard failover, cyclical peaks in workload usage, or a variety of other reasons. Regardless of the reason, Temporary Instant Capacity provides a way to pay for hardware when it is needed, not when it is acquired.
Temporary Instant Capacity is a feature of Instant Capacity. As shown in Figure 11-1, users can activate unlicensed CPUs using the Temporary Instant Capacity software.
