Misunderstandings
Sometimes one of the two potential lovers has a wrong belief about the other. Somehow they get the wrong idea and assume the other is unavailable. Let’s look at a few of these.
In Jodie Foster’s Home for the Holidays (1995, written by W.D. Richter), Holly Hunter’s Claudia has just lost her job and her boyfriend (well, falling for the boss, she should probably have seen that coming), and her daughter announces that she’s spending Thanksgiving with her boyfriend.
