Postproduction sound is an area of filmmaking that is attaining a broader audience as more films are made that feature stunning, imaginative, and creative sound design. Action films, fantasy films, and most assuredly the recent trend of superhero films require sound that captures the viewer and helps transcend the ordinary world. However, sound design also includes the more subtle and nuanced aspects of the aural narrative, which can progress the story and collaborate with the film score.
