The Link between Business and Athletics
Sports are a microcosm of society, and business is a microcosm of society. Each field of endeavor mirrors or imitates society in some way, so they must somehow be related to each other. Look at what happens in sports: Athletes train, they compete, they win or lose, they try again, they win or lose again, they practice some more, and they repeat the sequence. In business, people are trained or train themselves to learn more about their jobs, they compete for customers, they win some accounts and lose others, they try again, they train, win, and lose some more, and then they repeat the sequence. In both cases, the participants have to interact with other people on various levels.
