ADC See analog to digital converter (ADC).
analog to digital converter (ADC) Converts electric signals from the photosites of a camera’s sensor to a binary code of zeros and ones to digitally represent an image.
aperture An adjustable hole within the lens of a camera that lets light pass onto a camera sensor.
archive (file compression) A file that contains multiple compressed files that can be uncompressed to their original size using an application.
archive (photo collection) A dedicated protected media for the long-term storage of digital photos in which photo files are left untouched once they enter and new photos are added on a regular basis.
