OVERSPRAY IN A WHOLE NEW LIGHT
When taking a photo, light behind a subject allows people not to squint from light in their face. It also provides the ability to bring out details that are not readily visible to the eye. Translucent materials such as water and smoke look remarkably different with backlight shining through. It adds almost a three-dimensional look. —TH
