CHAPTER 3 Styling

There’s a common misconception that a food photographer is automatically a food stylist, when in fact, they are two distinctly different jobs with different skill sets, that work together to create great images. So, what does a food stylist do?

In short, their job is to make sure the food is cooked and plated beautifully and styled for the camera so it’s photo ready. This often involves cooking things a bit differently than how you would if you were eating your meal at home, spending extra time serving and plating the food.
