Create a NOT List
When setting expectations about the scope of your project, saying what you are not going to do can be just as important as what you are.
By creating a NOT list, you will clearly state what is in and out of scope for your project. Doing this will not only set clear expectations with your customer, but will also ensure that you and your team are focusing on the really important stuff while ignoring everything else.
