CHAPTER 21 SHOOTING AND EDITING ON FILM
The grammar and techniques of shooting and editing on film are basically the same as those for shooting on tape. The major difference is that the results can be much better – both in terms of pictures and sound. There are also several important differences in the process. We will look first of all at how a film shoot differs from a tape shoot.
The Shoot
A minimum of three technicians are needed for a film shoot:
• Camera operator
• Camera assistant or clapper/loader
• Sound recordist
