Overview
Previous chapters have discussed embodied carbon reductions that can be achieved at individual building scale. However, opportunities for further reducing carbon activity are increased when considering large groups of buildings. Whatever the condition or status of the area, campus or district in question, whether it is ‘empty’ or fully occupied, it is essential to develop a carbon policy or strategy at the outset to specifically inform any master planning or urban regeneration proposals.
