Software Update Building Blocks
One of the redesign focuses for software updates in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager was to simplify the workflow by reducing the number of different supporting objects and nodes in the console. This resulted in eliminating search folders, update lists, and update deployments and the cluttered category view of the repository. Replacing these objects in the console is the update group. In addition, update templates have been removed from the console and cannot be directly created.
