Call them film buyers, call them acquisitions executives, or call them programmers. Whatever their title, these are the people responsible for selecting the short films for their particular distribution outlet. They are the gatekeepers. One thing I can assure you is that each person who does this job loves short film. They have to in order to be able to objectively review hundreds, sometimes thousands, of shorts and make a decision on each and every one of them.
