ABSTRACT: What role does accounting play for the sustainable management of megaprojects? What major impacts can be associated with the development of a transnational megaproject on people, economies, and the natural environment? What systems can be implemented to accompany the development of infrastructure megaprojects toward greater transparency, openness, and inclusiveness? With the help of different methodologies, and through a specific business case, the answers to these questions begin to become apparent. And the insights we can glean can bring enriching benefits to theory and practice. Like all research work, this study has limitations and opportunities for future development.
