There are basically four types of behavior in terms of temperament and energy:
• assertive
• aggressive
• passive-aggressive
• passive
Each one can be effective in its own right, and each one has a negative side, too. These types of behavior are described in the following sections.
Assertive
In a marriage or a working relationship, it’s important that you communicate with respect and equality. You want to clearly present your needs and wants and to listen to what the other person has to say.
