Chapter 5. Developing with the SunPlex Agent Builder
In Chapter 3, “Getting Started,” we went through the steps needed to make an application highly available without doing any coding work. All that was required was the cluster system administrator to type a few commands to create an instance of the Generic Data Service (GDS) configured to manage the application in the cluster environment. It became apparent toward the end, however, that there was quite a lot of typing involved in this approach. This may be fine if the application is deployed only once on a single cluster, but it could become cumbersome if deployed in multiple clusters or if you have several applications.
