Introduction

This is one of the most critical phases in the total methodology, and it is usually the one that is done the poorest. Too many organizations want to start flowcharting and skip through the planning phase without selecting the right process, defining the results that they need, training the Process Improvement Team (PIT), or preparing a comprehensive project that is supported by the PIT and management.

Objective of the planning phase: To ensure success by building leadership, understanding, and commitment and by selecting the correct PIT and processes.
