Strategic Data Management for the Future

Building trust between the patient, providers, and payers is mandatory. Data ownership and access to patient data are very crucial and need to be understood carefully. Data should be literally owned by the individual to whom it applies. With ownership and property rights come control. The patients will legally control the existence and use of their data. Any use of data in this context will require the explicit permission of the owner/ patient and can be controlled by the patient for various cases (e.g., exclusion/prohibition, partial access, full access, temporary/transient access, permanent access, sharing, leasing, sale, donation).
