VMware Pluggable Storage Architecture (PSA) is designed to be modular and act as a foundation for VMware storage partners to port their Multipath I/O (MPIO) software to run on ESXi. This chapter covers in some detail the MPIO plug-ins that are currently certified with vSphere 6. This chapter provides an overview of each package supported by vSphere 6 and some insights into what goes on behind the scenes in ESXi after each is installed and configured. This chapter is not intended to replace or be a substitute for the documentation you can get from each package’s vendor.
