Appendix 3.2 Using JMP to Construct Charts

You can use JMP to create the charts presented in this chapter. If you have not already read Appendix 2.2 on page 20, “Introduction to JMP Version 6,” you should do so now.

Generating a Bar Chart

To produce the bar chart in Figure 3.2 on page 25, open the LABTESTS.JMP data table. Select Analyze → Distribution. Then do the following:

1. Select Cause and click the Y, Columns button. Select Frequency and click the Freq button. Click the OK button (see Figure A3.11).

2. Click the red triangle next to Cause. Select Histogram Options → Count ...
