Containers
Containers as a class of objects are unique. Even though an OU is a container, the class of object is organizationalUnit. The easiest way to distinguish an OU from a container is by the icon in Active Directory Users and Computers. The icon for a container object looks like a folder with no other features, whereas an OU has a folder icon with a open book.
By default, six containers are created in every domain: Builtin, Computers, ForeignSecurityPrincipals, LostAndFound, System, and Users.
Tip
The LostAndFound and System Containers are not visible in the Active Directory Users and Computers MMC Snap-in unless you turn on Advanced Features from the View menu.
