19.1  INTRODUCTION

One may wonder if testing is really required if all the development was done as per the specification, and also if the developers do a good job then where and what is the necessity for software testing. True these are valid arguments for a perfect world but reality is far from it. In fact testing evolved as a separate entity much later in the history of software development.
