Chapter 6. What’s a Will? What’s a Trust? How Do You Use Them to Put Your Plan in Place?
By now you know how to contact an attorney, and hopefully you already have an appointment scheduled. If not, you know what to do! You also have an idea as to the value of your estate and some idea as to your goals. The next item on your To Do list is to ask your lawyer to put pen to paper to prepare a Will and other testamentary documents that put your good intentions into action. You’ll find basic estate planning concepts in this chapter, with more sophisticated and fancy planning in Chapter 7 (“What If You Want to Get Fancy with Your Planning?”).
