The main reason why I decided to write this book was because while I was living in Greece during the big financial years, I was in top managerial and C-suite positions in several SMEs (small-to-medium enterprise). This fact per se was enough to help me understand what I was studying during my MBA years, which was that SMEs are very important for every society, especially during turbulent times. Their survival under such difficult circumstances was the cornerstone upon which the survival of the Greek middle class, thus society as a whole, was based.
