In reality, sketches are just one of the things that are shared in order to create a common set of references to support the design activity. You will already have noticed this if you looked closely at the figures in the previous section. The foamboards illustrated contain a mix of both sketches and found material (magazine clippings, photos, etc.).
However, what isn’t included are 3D physical sketches, such as we saw with the Orange X juicer in Figure 50. Nor do we see 3D objects such as toys or other products that are the equivalent to the found reference material that we saw on the foamboards.
