If you're only going to use digital acquisition, you can skip this chapter. But you might want to have at least a passing acquaintance with some of the information here. Years ago, several companies made and marketed still and movie film stock: Kodak (United States), Fuji (Japan), Ansco/GAF (United States), Dupont (United States), Ilford (England), Agfa (Germany), Orwo (East Germany), Ferrania (Italy), and others all around the world. Some of these companies are out of business now, some are out of the film manufacturing business, and some are just out of the movie film manufacturing business.
