This book is a newly expanded collection of the articles I wrote for various journals between the years 1974 and 2014. It is however much more than just an expanded collection. Each article has a newly written preface which gives the historical background to the project, why it was written, relevant anecdotes, and how it tried to make the best use of the technology of the day through new circuit techniques. It maps out the technical progress that has been made since the article was written, evaluated from a forty-year perspective. It goes from history to the cutting edge.
