Editor’s Note
There is something I want to share with you. My husband of 35 years, Irv Bauer, died suddenly last year, just prior to the period he had set aside to write this book. Heartbroken, I reached out to the publishers, who, in an extraordinary leap of faith, contracted me, Irv’s wife—and also collaborator, co-producer, and teaching assistant—to write the book and extended the deadline by three months. I have followed Irv’s detailed book proposal, which was to impart the material as he taught it in his classes and seminars in a framework of ten sessions. The task of finding, gathering, selecting, and compiling and editing the material, though enormous, has been a labor of love. A gift for which I will be ever grateful.
