This was taken by my buddy, Dave, and he asked me to see what I could do with it. As it turned out, the final version of this photo is the inspiration for this book (this is the image I showed my brother that he thought looked like a Kinkade. Then I showed him the original, and he asked me to show him exactly how I got to the final image. Once I did, he said, “You should write a book that starts with a ‘crappy’ image and takes you all the way through the process to the final image.” You’re halfway through that book now). By the way, this shot was taken in L.A. I kid you not.
