Lesson 2. Convertible, Marin Headlands, California
Shot at the Marin Headlands, just across the Golden Gate Bridge, this shot looks like it was set up, but it wasn’t (we drove up and the car was just like you see it). The light on the car looked fairly nice, but the car was backlit, so the side facing the camera is too dark, and the sky is brighter than it was at sunset. You’re going to use most (but not all) of the 7-Point System to bring this photo back to life, but what really makes this work is a double-processing trick in Camera Raw using Smart Objects. Don’t worry—it’s easier than it sounds.
