Chapter 2
- In Mastering Leadership (p. 101), we discuss in more detail cultural differences in LCP results. The leadership competencies measured by the LCP are all highly and consistently correlated with Leadership Effectiveness. The Reactive behaviors are all inverse to effectiveness, but there is some variation in the strength of the correlations. What we see is that in some countries, usually developing countries, patriarchal styles of leadership are more highly valued. We also see this in the ideal/optimal profile.
Chapter 4
- We make the assumption that most raters are leaders within the organization. Because we selected senior leaders (L1–L3) in large organizations for this study, most of the raters will also be senior leaders (board members through L4). This, of course, may not be the case of all raters, but we will use the word “rater” and “leader” interchangeably because, for the most part, this study is about is senior leaders providing feedback to other senior leaders.
