We initially covered queries in Chapter 19. In this chapter, we will cover queries in more depth.
One of Web Intelligence’s greatest strengths is the ability to create complex queries and answer complex business questions easily. The powerful semantic layer via the universe lets you create complex SQL statements, without your ever needing to know or write SQL.
We use the term complex query to refer to any query that has these characteristics:
• Generates SQL that is more than a straightforward SELECT and GROUP BY statement
• Leverages features that you may not necessarily use on a routine basis
• Potentially has an adverse effect on response time
