So far, you have learned how to display and manipulate objects called universe object variables that are returned from a data provider. Formulas provide a powerful way to enhance your reports by transforming columns of data into more meaningful information.
There are advantages and disadvantages to using user-defined formulas and variables that are created by the report designer.
