Preface to this edition
Around the world an announcement came from almost all the governments of all countries, states, and cities. “All events are cancelled”. The thought that weddings, sports meetings, fun runs, birthday parties, product launches, festivals, concerts, conferences, exhibitions, religious gatherings, and more, a multi-billion-dollar industry would suddenly halt, is absurd. It is science fiction, “The Day the World Stopped”. But it happened. All of us in the events sector at first just stood there nonplussed, as though the triffids had arrived.
