For the Tin game, the concept began with Leaf, the main character, and the narrative grew around her. The character of Tin Girl was already clearly established in my mind, but needed a bit of a visual push to get it to its final production look. You can see the evolution of the character from my original quick sketch compared to a working concept used for the 3D modeling process (see figures 2.1–2.2.).
Environments, props and anything else that will populate the game or cinematic worlds should also get the concept treatment.
