On a recent international trip, one of the authors parked in a long-term parking facility near the airport that provides an identification card to frequent parkers. When I arrived at the parking facility, I placed my card against a reader. My name immediately appeared on an LCD display and the attendant addressed me by name when she directed me to my parking space. When returning, again I placed my card against a reader, which displayed my name, the number of days I had been parked, and the amount due. I paid my bill by swiping my credit card without speaking to an attendant. Any frequent parker specials were automatically credited to my bill.
