This project, home to the only public swimming pool in the City, is an example of retrofitting a historically significant modern building. The building’s type has inherently high energy and environmental control demands, and its listed status limited the scope of fabric improvements. Nevertheless, the retrofit has succeeded in cutting energy consumption by half, making it comparable with current best practice in new building.
