01 New café social/work space
In this project, a huge, energy-hungry, functionally outdated 1960s monolith of a building, lodged uncomfortably in a fine city grain, was transformed into an uplifting and adaptable workplace with excellent environmental performance and improved urban connectivity. Combined with the rethinking of working patterns and consequent increase in space utilisation the retrofit has saved the council both operational and accommodation costs and improved workplace morale.
