Field Data Collection and Feedback
Abstract
This chapter stresses the need for failure data collection as an essential input to all the reliability modelling and growth techniques dealt with in the book. The desirability of recoding actual times to failure is emphasised and explained. Some formats and items for recording are given. Caution is emphasised in the case of vendor failure rate claims. Anecdotal data is encouraged.
