Mark McLean did not have a typical childhood. He was born in 1974 in middle America. Both his parents were raging alcoholics. His mother used to lock herself in the house to avoid being disturbed so she could drink a gallon of whatever booze was on sale that day. Mark and his two brothers would come home from school, find the doors locked, and take that as their cue to drop their backpacks and head off to play until late in the evening.
